RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško was reportedly a target for Paris Saint-Germain during the past summer transfer window as they sought a new goal-scoring option following Kylian Mbappé’s departure.
The Slovenian forward, under contract with Leipzig until 2029, had a standout 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals and providing two assists in 42 games for the German side.
Among the suitors vying for the 21-year-old are Arsenal and while the forward ended up staying with Leipzig, it doesn’t mean that the Gunners don’t intend to return next year for the player to bolster their No. 9 position.
CaughtOffside reported on Sunday, citing sources, that Arsenal are still very interested in Šeško and are hopeful about bringing him to the Emirates Stadium. They’ve already started making contacts before next summer to get a head start on their rivals.
At PSG, it could be a make-or-break 2024-25 season for Randal Kolo Muani, and next summer, the Ligue 1 side could be looking to improve the striker position to find consistent goal-scoring.
It will be interesting to see if Kolo Muani can have a good season. If not, sporting advisor Luis Campos could be drawing up No. 9 targets
