Arsenal Set to Face PSG in Champions League Amidst Historic Winning Run, Stat Shows

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will face off next week in Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League, with the Premier League side heading into the clash in top form.

Mikel Arteta and his team are feeling confident after going on the road to Manchester City and managing a draw despite being down to 10 men. However, there’s still some heartbreak, as they held a 2-1 lead before conceding in stoppage time of the second half.

Nonetheless, the Gunners returned to winning ways on Wednesday with a 5-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers. OptaJoe spotlighted on X that Arsenal won 21 out of 30 games in all competitions in 2024, giving them a win rate of 70 percent.

Additionally, this matches their best-ever win percentage in a calendar year, set back in 1932, when they won 35 out of 50 games, also 70 percent.

The Parisian players must be on their A-game to defend these plays and prevent the English side from continuing their impressive win form. Still, another stat should concern Luis Enrique and his team.

WhoScored spotlighted on X that Arsenal tops the most Premier League goals scored from set-pieces since the start of last season:

◎ 23 – Arsenal

◎ 21 – Everton

◎ 17 – Aston Villa

◎ 17 – Manchester City

◎ 16 – Newcastle United
