Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are set to face Arsenal on Tuesday in Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League, and one player from the capital club is offering a bold take.
The Parisians were nearly cruising to a 3-0 win over Stade Rennais on Friday night and riding positive momentum into the Emirates Stadium.
Bradley Barcola opened the scoring in the 30th minute, and in the second half, PSG extended their lead with a goal from Kang-in Lee in the 58th minute, followed by Barcola’s second of the night in the 68th minute to make it 3-0.
Rennes managed to pull one back and nearly made it 3-2, but Alidu Seidu’s goal was called offside after a VAR review in the 88th minute. Although the French side made the contest more complicated than it needed to be, they’re riding confidence.
PSG midfielder João Neves spoke with Téléfoot and offered a bold take regarding the squad’s mindset.
“Facing Arsenal on Tuesday in the Champions League? We’re not going there to draw but to win,” Neves told the French media outlet. “That’s our mentality, we are PSG.”
Arsenal head into this clash riding a two-match win streak after wins over Bolton Wanderers and Leicester City. It will be interesting to see if either of these clubs secure all three points on Tuesday night.
