Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta Gives Honest Reaction to PSG Dropping Ousmane Dembélé from UCL Clash

Arsenal will aim to secure three points when they take on Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium. Ahead of the match, an expert has highlighted a player who could shine against the French club.

On Monday, PSG made a significant announcement before their clash with the Premier League side: manager Luis Enrique has left Ousmane Dembélé out of the squad for the trip to North London.

This decision is a blow to PSG’s attack, especially considering Dembélé’s impressive form this season. The 27-year-old has contributed four goals and four assists in seven matches across all competitions, so his absence will be felt.

Mikel Arteta probably had his tactical plan that included Dembélé, but the Spanish tactician shared that he only found out about the news right before his press conference with the media.

“Well I didn’t know, I just heard the news before the press conference so yeah it was a surprise,” Arteta said. “I don’t know what happened but we’ve already done a lot of preparation for PSG and obviously with Dembélé in it because he’s a key player for PSG but they have many other options.”

“Dembélé has the ability to do something unexpected on the pitch, to create his magic moments. We’re going to prepare like we always do with every possibility and let’s see.”

The Gunners come into this match after two consecutive wins last week, victories against Bolton Wanderers and Leicester City. It will be interesting to see if they can take advantage of a squad without Dembélé.
