AS Monaco have faced an anxious wait to find out whether Lamine Camara (20) would be cleared to face Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League opener at the Stade Louis II on Thursday. The verdict is now in, L’Équipe reports.
Camara, who has excelled alongside captain Denis Zakaria since making the switch from FC Metz to Monaco over the summer, was stretchered off late on during the Principality club’s 3-0 victory over AJ Auxerre on Saturday afternoon. The exact nature of the injury suffered by the Senegalese midfielder was not immediately evident, however, L’Équipe revealed it to be an Adam’s Apple injury.
The nature of the injury meant that Camara was subjected the the concussion procedure, meaning that he had to undergo tests, from the club, but also from the FFF, in order to return to training. He underwent those tests on Monday and the midfielder has now been given the green light to return to training. He will therefore be available for selection for Les Monégasques’ encounter against Barcelona.
