Azerbaijan showcased its vibrant tourism potential at the Tashkent International Tourism Fair, strengthening ties with Uzbekistan and promoting Silk Road travel.

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board, alongside local tourism partners, participated in the “Tashkent International Tourism Fair” (TITF) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to highlight the country’s diverse travel opportunities. The fair, centered around the theme “Tourism on the Silk Road,” served as a platform to promote Azerbaijan as a unique and vibrant destination.

Azerbaijan’s delegation was represented at a dedicated national stand, featuring “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC (AZAL), Shahdag Tourism Center, and nine prominent local tourism partners.

Visitors to the event were introduced to Azerbaijan’s extensive offerings, including its cultural and historical landmarks, traditional cuisine, ski resorts, winemaking heritage, wellness retreats, and winter tourism experiences. The fair also facilitated business-to-business (B2B) meetings, fostering connections between Azerbaijani tourism representatives and international industry professionals.

A key highlight of the fair was a special event involving members of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts, with Shahdag Tourism Center actively participating as a member. This event spotlighted the Alliance’s initiatives to strengthen cooperation among member nations. Representatives from Shahdag provided updates on their winter tourism initiatives, upcoming projects, and plans for international competitions. It was also announced that the Shahdag Tourism Center would host the next Eurasian Mountain Resorts Festival in March 2025.

Additionally, Azerbaijan saw a significant increase in visitors from Uzbekistan during the January to October 2024 period, with 37,536 arrivals—an impressive 19% growth compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.
