Despite recent troubles, Pakistan talisman Babar Azam has cemented himself as one of the best batsmen the country has produced. The 30-year-old has carried the batting of the Asian giants for the better part of the last 10 years. Despite being out of form over the past 12 months, Babar’s significance to his team does not decrease one bit.
The batter recently stepped down from his role as Pakistan’s white-ball captain and was dropped after the first Test of the three-match series against England.
But Babar will be looking to mark his comeback during the upcoming ODI series of Australia. And Babar has been bestowed with a special honour by Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) which will host the first match of the series.

Will Babar Azam’s bat be displayed at the Melbourne Cricket Ground?
Babar revealed on social media that MCG have asked for his bat to be displayed at the iconic long room of the stadium.
The MCG management had requested Babar to donate the bat he used for the ICC T20 World Cup Final 2022 against England, which was played at the same venue. He scored a 28-ball 32 but was not able to guide his team to a win.
