After being rested for the Test series against England, three Pakistani superstars — Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah — were named in the limited-overs squad of the national team that will tour Australia in November. However, the three of them will not be travelling to Zimbabwe, as they have been rested for that tour, which will be followed by the Australia series.
Both tours will have six matches, three ODIs and three T20Is. The Australia tour will run from November 4 to 18. The Zimbabwe tour, where the matches will be played entirely in Bulawayo, will be held from November 24 to December 5.
After the squad was announced, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named Mohammad Rizwan as white-ball captain and Salman Ali Agha as his deputy. Rizwan will be available for ODIs in Zimbabwe but not the T20Is.
Mohammad Hasnain, who was player of the tournament in the Champions Cup One-Day tournament, made a comeback to the national side. Young guns like Jahandad Khan, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram, Haseebullah, and Muhammad Irfan Khan were named in a senior men’s squad.
