Baker Mayfield took part in open portion of Bucs practice Thursday

Date:

There was a positive update on quarterback Baker Mayfield’s status during the open portion of Buccaneers practice on Thursday.

Mayfield did not participate on Wednesday and was listed on the injury report with a knee issue, but reporters at the team’s facility shared word that he was back in action on Thursday. The team’s next injury report will shed light on his participation level, but his presence on the field bodes well for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

Linebacker K.J. Britt (ankle), running back Bucky Irving (back, hip), and safety Mike Edwards (hamstring) were also on the field for the Bucs.

Wide receiver Mike Evans (rest) and left tackle Tristan Wirfs (foot, knee) were not spotted during the open portion of practice.
