BAN vs SA 2024 1st Test Day 1 Live Score: Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bat first against South Africa in the first Test of a two-match series on Monday.
“The pitch looks dry and it won’t be easy to bat here in the fourth innings,” Shanto said at the toss. “We have experience and we are looking forward to play here. We know the conditions and hopefully we will do good.”
South Africa captain Aiden Markram said he would have batted first too.
“Obviously we would have liked to bat first, that’s no secret. The preparation has been good and we have had a practice session for four-five days here. The boys are in a good head space,” Markram said.
