Raphinha has been one of the revelations in Europe this season. Once thought expendable, the Brazilian has now firmly established himself as one of the best-performing wingers under Hansi Flick.
Raphinha’s combination play with Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal has seen Barcelona boast of the best-performing trio in Europe this season.
But even when it comes to individual performances, the Brazilian’s tally has been nothing short of impressive.
Raphinha equals his last two seasons’ records
As a matter of fact, Raphinha’s performance in El Clasico, which saw him score a goal and register an assist, has now seen him equal his last two season’s record at Barcelona.
Indeed, Raphinha has netted 10 goals in all competitions this season, which is the same number of goals he had scored in each of his past two seasons at Barcelona.
In his first season at Camp Nou, the 27-year-old bagged ten goals from 50 matches. In the second season, he scored the same number of goals, but only required 37 matches.
This time around, the Brazilian only needed 14 competitive matches to squad that tally, which highlights just how much of an improvement the attacker has made this season.
Raphinha’s best ever La Liga scoring tally, though, remains at seven, which was achieved in his first year.
However, with 27 league matches ahead of him, the Brazilian can not only beat his own record but also set a new benchmark for him in the years to come.
