FC Barcelona has seemingly undergone a great mental shift ever since the departure of Xavi Hernandez. However, it is not the Spaniard’s departure that has caused this change but rather another arrival. In actuality, it is Hansi Flick’s appointment as the new Barcelona coach that has brought about this change.

Beyond just the clear differences that can be seen between the way Xavi’s Barcelona played and how Flick’s men go about games, there are other changes that have taken place at the club as well. A methodical and driven individual, Flick’s integration of new medical and fitness methods have already proven to be effective.

However, he continues to showcase his extreme sense of punctuality and method to his madness as he keeps introducing new policies. Ahead of his team’s upcoming clash against fellow Catalan side Girona, for instance, he has once again decided to make a new change.

As highlighted by SPORT, Hansi Flick intends to break another traditional habit that Barcelona has whenever they visit the Montilivi to take on Girona. Typically, the team takes a team bus after their meals that will take close to an hour to head to Girona from Barcelona on the same day that they are supposed to have their match.

Hansi Flick, however, does not intend to do this. Instead, the German tactician wants his players to travel to Girona ahead of time and sleep there rather than in Barcelona the night before. He also wants the team to eat together over there as he wants his team to be in the right mindset to take on their opponents.

His intentions to always keep his team one step ahead continue to pay off it seems. Already the coach with the best start to the campaign across La Liga, Flick’s methodical progress has provided excellent results so far and it does not seem like the former Bayern Munich coach is hoping to stop anytime soon.
