Barcelona eye Bosman move for two Bundesliga superstars next summer – report

Barcelona had a relatively muted transfer window this summer, as they were only able to sign Dani Olmo, despite being linked with a slew of top players across Europe.

Joshua Kimmich and Jonathan Tah were among these targets as the club wanted to shore up their ranks in central midfield and central defence.

Unfortunately, Barcelona were not in a financial position to afford any of these two stars, who are among the best in the Bundesliga.

Barcelona eyeing two free transfers next summer

However, Barcelona have not completely lost hope in their pursuit of Kimmich and Tah.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans are weighing up a free transfer for the German duo next summer, knowing their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Tah, for his part, was closely linked with an exit from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, but a move did not materialise despite interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

With his contract expiring in 2025, Barcelona have already told the player they want to sign him for free next summer.

Tah will not renew his contract at Leverkusen, but Barcelona may have their task cut out in convincing the German international, who is also courted by several other top across Europe.

Barcelona have advantage in Kimmich pursuit

Kimmich, on the other hand, has been a long-time target for Barcelona. He was particularly desired by previous coach Xavi and that is unlikely to change under Hansi Flick.

Kimmich was destined to leave Bayern this summer, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. But just like Tah, a move did not materialise.

Bayern are desperately trying to tie Kimmich down to a new contract, but it appears the midfielder is looking for a new challenge elsewhere.

Several clubs including Real Madrid and Barcelona are closely monitoring his situation at Bayern, but the Catalans may have an advantage thanks to Flick, his former coach at Bayern.
