We are only a few weeks away before the January transfer window kicks off. But for Barcelona, the last few weeks of December pose ominous signs.
That is because the club are running a tight deadline of registering their two new signings – Dani Olmo and Pau Victor – before the end of the month.
The registration issue of Olmo, in particular, is ailing the club as they would require significant revenue in order to register the Spaniard.
Barcelona have a few solutions in mind
Spanish journalist Santi Ovalle has offered an update on Barcelona’s situation with Dani Olmo, confirming that the club are yet to find any solution.
The Catalans are hoping for more clarity in the upcoming extraordinary general assembly, which is scheduled for December 21.
However, should things not work out, Barcelona could once again use a few familiar economic levers, in a desperate attempt to register Olmo.
The Spanish international, after all, has been an excellent addition to the Barça team this season, racking up six goals in just 12 competitive appearances.
Barcelona, therefore, are open to registering the former RB Leipzig star through means of a guarantee provided by the club bosses – as had happened with Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.
The Blaugrana are also working on a solution which could see them sell the management of the VIP stands for a fee of up to €200 million.
However, this strategy could take a long time to be fruitful as finding interested parties might not necessarily be easy.
