Barcelona are flying high. The transformation of the team under Hansi Flick so far has been nothing short of sensational, for the team has left many stunned with four wins in four games despite the club’s innumerable setbacks.
Last night brought arguably the team’s best performance in years as they ruthlessly slotted seven goals past Real Valladolid and took them to the cleaners with a clinical performance.
Dani Olmo, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, Lamine Yamal and others were all on point for the Catalans at Montjuic as the team entered the international break on a high.
Chants echo around the stadium
Barcelona’s strong start to the season has undoubtedly left fans with great feelings and ambitions, especially after the lows of last season across all competitions.
In honour of the great start the new manager has brought to the team, the Estadi Olimpic de Lluis Companys chanted Hansi Flick’s name in chorus for a long time last night and the echoes of the chant sent shivers up the spine.
It was not only Flick, however, who received the honour of being acknowledged by the Barcelona faithful. The hat-trick hero, Raohinha, found himself in a similar situation.
Whenever the Brazilian got on the ball, the stadium erupted into chants of ‘Captain, Raphinha’, giving the player endless love and support after his sensational start to the new season.
Last night, the Barcelona captain was simply phenomenal as he exploited every small space the Valladolid defence exposed with great tenacity.
In 90 minutes, he not only scored three wonderful goals but also recorded one assist, five shots on target and three key passes.
