Barcelona starlet ‘very happy’ with his recent performance, expects regular minutes

It is safe to say that Hansi Flick’s rotations against Villarreal worked like a charm and the scoreline is a testament to the same.

Of the three youngsters he introduced on the field at Estadio de la Ceramica, however, Pablo Torre was the most impressive by far.

Starting on the night, the young midfield star recorded one goal and one assist to his name, completed 29 of his 34 attempted passes, recorded two key passes and created one big chance.

Far from done

As revealed in a recent report by SPORT, Torre is pleased with his great showing against Villarreal but is not yet satisfied.

The player is hungry for more minutes and regular playing time under Hansi Flick and believes he has done enough to assure himself of the same.

With the team reeling in a midfield crisis, he expects Flick to give him more opportunities, especially after last night’s performance. He is looking forward to minutes in the next game and feels he has a lot to provide.

While Torre was indeed impressive from a statistics perspective, what completed his performance was the understanding he showed regularly with players around him, his hold on spaces and finding the right run.

For a player who has barely featured over the past year, he showed no signs of rust with his distribution and his assist to Robert Lewandowski was a piece of art. His strike to score was only the cherry on the cake.

With Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez out until the end of the international break at least and Gavi and Frenkie de Jong’s return still uncertain, Torre could well be the one to benefit from the midfield crisis.

Needless to say, Flick will hope he can keep up his form in the coming games.
