Oscar Mingueza has developed into one of La Liga’s top right-backs since leaving FC Barcelona for Celta Vigo.
The former La Masia trainee has been particularly impressive in the ongoing season, which has helped him break into the Spanish national team while attracting suitors from across Europe.
Barcelona themselves are understood to be considering re-signing Mingueza as they seek a reliable alternative for Jules Kounde at right-back. The fact that they retain a 50% future sell-on clause makes the deal even more appealing.
Mingueza being offered to Italian clubs
However, as has been reported in the past, Mingueza is also attracting interest from clubs in Italy and Germany.
Amidst this, Matteo Moretto reports that the Spanish international has been offered to two Serie A teams – AC Milan and AS Roma – by his agents.
The report further adds that there has been no major progress in the operation with neither Italian club looking at it as a priority.
Meanwhile, it must be remembered that RB Leipzig in Germany are also interested in the Spanish international.
Furthermore, Celta Vigo have no interest in letting go of the defender and intend to convince him to stay put at the club. So, there are a lot of variables at play as far as Mingueza and his future are concerned.
As far as Barcelona are concerned, the plan is to sign a new right-back and possibly a left-back as well in the summer.
There are other names on the agenda apart from Mingueza. So, it remains to be seen if the Catalans press ahead to bring the former La Masia man back to the club or explore alternative routes.
