Bayern Munich Make Contract Extension ‘Top Priority’ for Liverpool, PSG-Linked Player

Jamal Musiala and Bayern Munich are engaged in contract extension conversations as his current deal expires in 2026. As a result, after this season, he’d be one year away from being a free agent.

This month, CaughtOffside reported that Liverpool has stepped up its interest in Musiala, who is also being monitored by Manchester City, Real Madrid, and PSG. Moreover, there are indications that Barcelona could consider him a potential signing in 2025.

The Mirror reported that Manchester United are also in the race for the German standout. As for the salary, the Sunday Express revealed that Musiala seeks wages in the region of £300,000 a week.

While talks are in the early stages, BILD reports that initial discussions have been positive. Both sides are looking to find common ground on terms and wages, and it will be interesting to see if they can do so.

Regarding the latest information on this file, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano noted in his Daily Briefing column for CaughtOffside that these discussions are a priority for the German side.

“There have been discussions ongoing between Jamal Musiala and Bayern for months, and they are still in negotiation,” Romano wrote. “Bayern consider Musiala’s extension as a top priority. That’s the only concrete news on Musiala now; all the rest is not something concrete. Arsenal have been linked with him but guys, every week five clubs are linked because interest is normal for such a top player.”
