Oct. 7—CARTHAGE, Mo. — Carthage’s Addie Foust claimed first place in the COC West and Joplin’s Scarlett Satterlee was runner-up at the COC Championships on Monday at the Carthage Golf Course.
Foust, who finished second last year, carded a 10-over 81. She was 3-over on the front nine, with a birdie on No. 9, but struggled on the back nine after a quadruple bogey on No. 11.
Tiger golfers Braeli Hoover and Molly Comer both shot 103.
Joplin junior Scarlett Satterlee was 19 over with a 90. She shot 10-over on the front nine, with a quadruple bogey on No. 4 and a birdie on No. 9. She closed out her round with a nine-over on the back nine after logging a triple bogey on No. 13.
Joplin’s Gwen Zamanzadeh shot 104 for seventh place.
In other results, Webb City’s Violet Haut and Isabella Manes both shot 107.
Joplin’s Ava Benedict carded a 108, Webb City’s Aly Byrd a 115, Cardinal teammate Emerson Boulware shot 116, as did Joplin’s Ava Horton.
Webb City’s Kaitlin Brown carded a 125. Webb City finished with a 445.
Foust, Satterlee and Zamanzadeh all qualified for All-COC first-team honors, while Joplin’s Benedict and Ava Foust and Carthage’s Molly Comer and Braeli Hoover all earned second-team honors.
In the COC East, Glendale’s Page Bowman claimed the COC title with a 2-under 69. Bowman logged seven birdies and five bogeys en route to the win. Ozark’s Josey Roberts, last year’s conference champ, was runner-up with a 5-over 76.
Joplin and Carthage will compete at the Class 4 District 3 tourney on Thursday at Schifferdecker Golf Course, while Webb City will be at the Class 3 District three tournament at the Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar.
