Michigan State basketball will have a great opportunity to clinch the Big Ten title outright on Thursday night.
The Spartans earned a share of the league title on Wednesday thanks to a Michigan loss, and they’ll now be able to clinch the outright crown with a win over Iowa on Thursday. Michigan State comes into this matchup with an incredible five game winning streak that includes victories over four straight ranked foes. Michigan State is 24-5 overall and 15-3 in Big Ten play.
Iowa comes into this game looking to solidify its spot in the Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes are 15-14 overall and 6-12 in Big Ten play — which puts them right on the edge of missing out on the Big Ten Tournament.
This will be the first and only meeting between the Spartans and Hawkeyes during the regular season. Michigan State is listed as a sizable favorite in this matchup against Iowa.

Michigan State vs. Iowa prediction, pick
The records and states of these two teams would suggest this should be a lopsided game, but I don’t see that being the case here. The Hawkeyes have the offensive fire power to play with anyone in the league and I anticipate the Spartans will get their best shot. Similar to what we saw in the Wisconsin game on Sunday, I predict this is a close one until the final minutes and Michigan State eventually pulls away.
Prediction: Michigan State 84, Iowa 76
