Birmingham City’s Kōji Miyoshi set to sign for Bochum

According to Florian Plettenberg, VfL Bochum are set to sign Birmingham City winger Kōji Miyoshi.

It is understood that talks between the two clubs are in the advanced stages, and a move is expected to be imminent.

As stated in the report, the transfer agreed between both sides is said to be well below €1 million and, therefore, fits into the tight budget Bochum are working with this summer.

With only one year remaining on his deal at St. Andrews, Birmingham were not in a position to demand a lucrative fee for the 27-year-old.

Since signing for Birmingham in 2023, Miyoshi has gone on to make 52 appearances for the League One outfit, scoring seven goals and collecting six assists in the process.

As well as this, Miyoshi has been capped five times by the Japanese national team, scoring two goals for the Samurai Blue in the 2019 Copa América.
