Blackhawks Officially Reveal New Winter Classic Sweaters

Date:

The Chicago Blackhawks have revealed their new sweaters and full uniforms for the Winter Classic. They will take on the St. Louis Blues in the big matchup at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs.

Each team has some incredible history and now the rivalry is being taken to The Friendly Confines. These two met in the Winter Classic at St. Louis’s Busch Stadium of MLB.

Both teams have a sawn-down embroidered heritage felt front crest and shoulder patch. For the Hawks, they have a classic lace-neck collar, which is meant to be reminiscent of hockey’s early days.

Chicago has a rich baseball history so they created a stitched pinstripe design in the back numbers to honor that. The front crest is a tribute to the Chicago flag.

As for the Blues, they have parts inspired by their 1966 prototype sweater. There is a new vintage style “Blue Note” placed on the shoulder. Both of these are very nice and should look great on the Wrigley Field ice.

Neither team is having the best season but they are sure going to look good for that one winter evening in Chicago. There was a lot of concern when Fanatics took over but this is a great start to their special events.

This game will take place on Tuesday, December 31st to kick off New Year’s Eve. The NHL always puts on a wonderful show with the Winter Classic.
