BOYS BASKETBALL: Parker, Old Forge surge past Wyoming Area in Marseco Tournament

Cameron Parker scored 21 points, Logan Fanning added 13 and Old Forge defeated Wyoming Area, 60-46, at the Anthony “Badger” Marseco Tournament on Friday, advancing to Sunday’s final against Northwest Area.

Luke Kopetchny scored 22 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to pace Wyoming Area.

Northwest Area 50, Pittston Area 48: At Old Forge, Ryan Miner scored a team-high 16 points and Josh Miner scored 12 to lead Northwest over Pittston Area in the Marseco Tournament on Friday, advancing to Sunday’s final against Old Forge.

Silvio Giardina led Pittston Area with 17 points.

Mid Valley 45, Lakeland 35: Kaleik Cook scored 13 points, Demaja Dunston added 10 and Mid Valley defeated Lakeland in the Peter Turonis Tournament on Friday, advancing to Sunday’s final against Valley View.

David Naniewicz paced Lakeland with nine points.

Valley View 56, Carbondale Area 21: Jagger Roe and Aiden Plotkin each scored eight points to lead Valley View past Carbondale Area in the Turonis Tournament on Friday, advancing to Sunday’s final against Mid Valley.

Cole Becchetti scored nine points to pace Carbondale Area.

Montrose 62, Blue Ridge 51: Jack Russell led Montrose with 24 points, including six 3-pointers, as the Meteors defeated Blue Ridge in the Community Foundation Tournament on Friday, advancing to Saturday’s final against Elk Lake.

Connor Flynn added 17, while Jude Adams had 14.

Paxton Pingarelli paced Blue Ridge with 19 points, while Gehrig Dibble added 14.

Elk Lake 65, Susquehanna 49: Chase Pond scored 18, John Heitsman added 15 and Elk Lake defeated Susquehanna in the Community Foundation Tournament on Friday, advancing to Saturday’s final against Montrose.

Logan Ayotte added 12 points, while Noah Gesford had 10.

Jaxon Downton paced Susquehanna with 18, while Griffin Fisk added 10.

North Pocono 62, Lackawanna Trail 51: Josh Staples scored 23, Cole West added 20 and North Pocono defeated Lackawanna Trail in the Taylor Lions Tournament on Friday, advancing to the final against Riverside.

Jake Antolick paced Lackawanna Trail with 21 points, while Lorenzo Domiano added 11.

Riverside 88, Forest City 17: Nico Antoniacci scored 24 points, Gerry Rose added 20 and Riverside defeated Forest City in the Taylor Lions Tournament on Friday, advancing to the final against North Pocono.

Connor McNally added 14 points, while Matthew Godlewski had 11.

John Conlogue paced Forest City with eight points.

Uniontown 63, Abington Heights 54: Despite 26 points from Jordan Shaffer, Abington Heights fell to Uniontown in the Central Valley Roundball Holiday Classic on Friday.

Robby Lucas added 14 points for the Comets.
