No significant surprises are on the roster, as only four players attend on a tryout basis, none of whom are NHL veterans.

With Logan Couture‘s injury uncertainty, seeing him on the official roster is encouraging. Camp is set to begin on Thursday, possibly allowing reporters to see his progress.

Top Sharks prospects like Will Smith and Macklin Celebrini will participate in their first training camp with the NHL club. Both players signed their entry-level contracts this summer and are set to begin their NHL careers.

With many top players returning, spots for depth places will be intriguing. Klim Kostin, Collin Graf, Barclay Goodrow, Ty Dellandrea, Justin Bailey, Danil Gushchin, and Carl Grundstrom are all projected to be in a battle to lock up the bottom six forward places.

Matt Benning seems set to return from missing most of last season, meaning Shakir Mukhamadullin and Jack Thompson will need to stand out to make the opening night roster.

Yaroslav Askarov will look to make the NHL roster following his trade from the Nashville Predators. As it stands, Mackenzie Blackwood and Vitek Vanecek are the Sharks top goalie options.

Tyler Toffoli and Alexander Wennberg are other players participating in their first Sharks training camp. The two free-agent signings are expected to significantly contribute to the team’s success this season.
