A season opener against a national power, three in-state matchups and a trip to Puerto Rico headline the women’s basketball schedule Brown released on Tuesday afternoon.
That all comes before the Ivy League opener, which is set for Jan. 4 against Dartmouth. The Big Green will visit the Pizzitola Center and start what the Bears hope will be a journey to Ivy Madness, a March event they will host in 2024-25 for the first time.

Indiana awaits on Nov. 4, a tough test for Brown out of the gate. Road trips to Rhode Island, Providence and TCU follow along with games against Colorado State and Kent State on a neutral floor. The Bears host Bryant in another in-state battle, the last in a trio they’ll play against Division I opponents this season.
The Hoosiers reached the Elite Eight in 2021 and have played in three of the last four Sweet 16s. Teri Moren earned an NCAA Tournament bid in just her second season in 2015-16, her first of six since moving to Bloomington. Indiana has won at least 20 games in all but Moren’s debut campaign, which came in 2014-15.
Brown travels to Kingston for a date with the Rams on Nov. 23 and will be looking to avenge the home loss that kept it from a clean sweep last season. URI pulled out a 67-56 victory on the road, denying the Bears a mythical state championship. They’ll bid to repeat victories against the Friars and Bulldogs on Dec. 7 and Dec. 10, respectively.
Sandwiched between those in-state games is a Thanksgiving trip to the Puerto Rico Clasico. Brown will take on Kent State and Colorado State during a three-day stay from Nov. 28-30. Teams will stay in San Juan and play at venues to be determined.
The Bears will take on one last power conference opponent before starting league play. They travel to face the Horned Frogs on Dec. 29, battling a program that improved by 11 wins under new coach Mark Campbell last season. TCU finished above .500 overall for the first time since 2019-20, beating Nebraska, Tulsa and BYU as part of a 14-game winning streak to begin the year.
Brown plays its home opener on Nov. 13 against Holy Cross, one of five regional foes to visit in the nonconference schedule. Johnson and Wales (Nov. 19), Stonehill (Dec. 5), Bryant and New Hampshire (Dec. 21) all hit the East Side for games before the holiday break. The Wildcats are led by first-year coach Megan Shoniker, a former standout guard and associate head coach with the Rams.
The Bears will be looking to take another jump from the 16-11 overall mark they posted last season. Monique LeBlanc’s crew posted victories against Georgetown, San Diego and eventual league tournament qualifier Penn. Brown came up just short of reaching the Ivy top four, as the Quakers claimed the final spot via tiebreaker behind eventual champion Princeton, Columbia and Harvard.
Bella Mauricio and Grace Arnolie figure to lead the Bears from the backcourt while Alyssa Moreland and Ada Anamekwe will anchor the frontcourt. Kyla Jones (Northwestern) and Mya Murray (Robert Morris) both departed as graduate transfers, with Jones earning all-conference honors at guard. Brown could get a boost if Olivia Young, Gianna Aiello any Mady Calhoun make significant improvements from a season ago.
