Macy Comito’s visit to Iowa State went so well Wednesday that she decided to end her recruitment.
Comito, a star for Carlisle High School and a member of the class of 2026, committed to the Cyclones women’s basketball team Wednesday night. She announced the move on social media on Thursday.
“I think I just felt so comfortable there, talking to the coaches and talking to the players,” Comito said. “It was amazing and I just really enjoyed what they had to say.”
Comito, a 5-foot-10 guard, started all 23 games for Carlisle last season and averaged 22.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
She said her choices came down to Iowa State, Drake, Butler and Belmont. But Comito, who grew up an Iowa State fan, decided to follow in the footsteps of her parents, who attended Iowa State.
“It just felt right and I knew that’s exactly what I wanted to do,” Comito said.
