IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – General public seating for the upcoming Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball season has sold out, the university’s Athletics Department announced Wednesday.
It’s second consecutive time, and the second time in the school’s program history, that the seating at Carver-Hawkeye Arena has sold out.
Student tickets are set to go on sale on Oct. 1.
Last season, the Hawkeyes won a school-record 34 games, won the Big Ten Tournament and made it to the NCAA Championship game.
The team said goodbye to stars Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin, who are now playing in the WNBA. They also said goodbye to Head Coach Lisa Bluder, who announced her retirement in May.
This season will be the first under new head coach Jan Jensen. It’s also the first season for former Villanova star Lucy Olsen in a Hawkeye uniform. She joined Iowa after last season.
The transfer point guard was the third leading scorer in the country last season, just behind Caitlin Clark and USC’s JuJu Watkins.
The Athletics Department invited fans to meet the team during its “Hawkeyes From Downtown” event at the corner of Clinton and Iowa Avenue from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 11.
