Central Cambria’s Jazmine Boland leads area golfers at PIAA golf championships

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Central Cambria senior Jazmine Boland is tied for 25th place after the first round of the PIAA Class 2A golf championships at Penn State University’s Blue Course to lead area athletes.

Boland shot a 15-over 87 during the first day of competition. All individuals will conclude the two-round event Tuesday.

Conemaugh Township senior Alex Boring, a four-time District 5 champ, is tied for 34th place with a 25-over 97.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy junior and three-time District 6 champion Madison Koshko is in first place by a stroke with a 1-over 73.

Bedford senior Josh Topper is tied for 28th place on the boys side. The District 5 runner-up shot a 5-over 77 Monday.

Westmont Hilltop senior Caden Miller, a two-time state qualifier, sits in a tie for 38th place with a 7-over 79.

Bedford senior Joey Huxta is in a tie for 70th place with a 20-over 92.

Schuylkill Haven sophomore Alan Evans and Quaker Valley senior Ethan Dai are tied at the top with 4-under 68s.
