According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are not currently pursuing a move to sign RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba (21). The France U21 international has impressed since his move to Germany from Lyon and this has seen him linked with a big move to several clubs across Europe.
The Premier League outfit are the latest club to be linked with the services of the OL academy graduate but Romano understands that there is nothing concrete to these links at the moment. However, if Chelsea were to develop an active interest in Lukeba, it would be a difficult deal for them to pull off due to the Red Bull club’s unwillingness to sell in the winter window.
Lukeba joined RB Leipzig for a fee in the region of €35m from Olympique Lyonnais. If the 21-year-old was to make a big move, Les Gones would profit from any transfer due to a 20% sell-on clause that was negotiated in his transfer to the East German club.
