Chelsea Target PSG’s €30M-Rated Defender to Boost Defensive Line, Report Says

Lucas Beraldo is approaching his first full year with Paris Saint-Germain after joining the French giants from São Paulo FC this past January. Nonetheless, one Premier League club appears to be eyeing the defender for a potential move.

Beraldo has had a rollercoaster ride going from Brazil to the French top flight; there have been moments where his potential flashes, and others look overwhelming for him.

The 20-year-old has made 30 appearances across all competitions for the French giants. Nonetheless, PSG showed this past summer that they’ll move off a player even after one season such as the sale of Manuel Ugarte showed.

According to Blues journalist Simon Phillips via his Substack, Chelsea is looking to Beraldo to bolster its backline. Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are signings that haven’t worked for the Premier League side, so it seems they’ll be looking at defenders either in the upcoming January market or next summer.

Chelsea should consider making a move for Beraldo if he becomes available soon, as they could definitely use some improvements in their defensive lineup.

While the defender still has plenty to learn, he seems to have a higher potential than some of Chelsea’s current center-backs, with Transfermarkt valuing him at around €30 million.
