The Chiefs got D.J. Humphries in the lineup on Sunday night for the first time since signing him as a free agent late last month, but he didn’t make it to the end of their 19-17 win over the Chargers.
Humphries injured his hamstring in the fourth quarter and missed the team’s final nine offensive snaps. Former starter Wanya Morris replaced him after the injury.
On Monday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that Humphries is feeling better than he did on Sunday but that the team was waiting for MRI results before making any plans involving Humphries this week.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was sacked three times and hit 13 times during the win, so pass protection remained an issue for the AFC West leaders even with the move to Humphries.
