Chris Storck won the Berks County Golf Association Senior Amateur Championship played at Heidelberg Country Club on Friday and Saturday. The victory is his second straight at the event.
Storck shot a 2-under 138 over the two days of competition to claim the overall title. Storck shot the lowest round of the day on Saturday with a 5-under 65 to pull away with the victory.
On Saturday, Storck played a bogey-free round and birdied three holes on the back nine to help secure the championship. He birdied the 399-yard, par-4 13th, the 410-yard, par-4 15th and the 369-yard, par-4 17th. He was the only golfer to shoot under par on Saturday.
Chris Fieger Sr. shot a 1-over 141 to finished in second place. On Friday, Fieger Sr. had the only score that was at par or below, as he completed the opening round with an even 70. Rod James earned third in the overall division with a 6-over 146.
In the Super Senior Division for players 65 and older, Gil Fritz shot an 11-over 151 to win the division. Fritz shot a 7-over 77 on Friday before closing out the weekend with a 4-over 74 on Saturday. Tom Hyland finished second in the Super Senior Division with a 15-over 155 and Guy McKeone earned third with a 17-over 157.
