Roma manager Claudio Ranieri addressed the media in view of the upcoming Derby della Capitale with Lazio.
”Everyone is available for the derby except Celik who has the flu,” said Ranieri.
”Obviously the Serie A table speaks for how Lazio ans Roma are doing. But the derby is a whole separate story in itself.”
”As a boy I went to Curva Sud, the derby is very special for me.”
“December made us realise that we are a team. We work to eliminate the defects. We are trying to steer the ship in the right direction.”
”I can’t promise anything but I have asked the players to always give their all on the pitch.”
”We must stay calm. Being anxious is not good motivation in the long run.”
”It doesn’t matter who will play, the mental aspect counts and how the players will feel on the pitch. What matters most is the players’ fitness and mental wellbeing in such a key moment of the season.”
“Pellegrini is not playing due to my psychological evaluation of him. Technically he is one of the best midfielders in Europe, but he suffers this situation with the fans and I have to keep in mind if a player is locked in or or if he risks losing his way.”
“Pellegrini feels the massive weight of each mistakes he makes. When I see him do better mentally I will put him on like I did at San Siro.”
