Clinton Mata and Nemanja Matić to miss Lyon’s upcoming match against Nantes

According to L’Équipe, Clinton Mata (31) and Nemanja Matić (36) are expected to miss Lyon’s upcoming match against Nantes in Ligue 1 through injury. The pair are sidelined following injuries sustained during OL’s emphatic 4-1 victory against Rangers in the Europa League.

Matić and Mata both had to be replaced in the first half of Les Gones’ match in Glasgow, striking fear in to fans of the Rhône club that two first-team regulars could be facing lengthy absences. The Lyon duo are both expected to miss the upcoming game against Les Canaris. L’Équipe understands that beyond these two casualties, the Lyon team is not expected to change all that much.

However, with the upcoming international break, this provides a two-week recovery period for the Serbian and Angolan internationals. As a result, following the pause in club football, both players are expected to resume training with the Lyon first team and be available for selection.
