Northampton Town Women say they want more “special nights” at the home of the town’s League One men’s team.
The team claimed their second win of the season, beating Cambridge United 3-2 to qualify for the FA Women’s National League Cup.
It was the first time the side had played at Sixfields since May.
Joint manager Liam Williams said: “We have started off the season with a good record and now we have to go and make sure we give our all in every game.”
Northampton Town Women, who are in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands, play the majority of their home matches at Fernie Fields.
The ground in Moulton, on the outskirts of Northampton, has capacity of about 1,000.
Cobblers Women’s record crowd was 1,098 in May at the 7,798-capacity Sixfields Stadium.
In the league, the team have one win and one loss from their first two games.
Williams said of the games ahead: “If we keep competing the best we can, we give ourselves a good chance.”
Tuesday’s game at Sixfields had a dramatic finish with Amber Pearson scoring the winning goal in the last minute of stoppage time with a free kick.
Joint manager Joshua Oldfield said: “There is something special about playing here and under the lights.”
“It’s really important that we get these moments and these nights.”
