Collin Chandler discusses his basketball journey

Date:

What To Expect With Mark Pope’s offense

Collin Chandler was a top-50 recruit in the 2022 high school cycle who spent the last two years on a Mormon mission. Chandler was originally committed to play for Mark Pope at BYU but decided to follow his head coach to Kentucky.

The Utah native will be a true freshman in 2024-25 with four years of eligibility remaining. Chandler joins a rookie class that also includes Travis Perry and Trent Noah. Kentucky will be very transfer-heavy this season but Chandler gives Pope’s staff an older true freshman. The first-year player could fill a big role after averaging 21.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists as a high school senior. Chandler scored over 1,500 points during his prep career.

On Wednesday, Kentucky basketball’s X account released an interview with Collin Chandler where the guard discussed his basketball history and how his journey brought him to Lexington.

The 6-foot-5 guard will give Kentucky some shooting and size on the wing. Kentucky will open the season on Nov. 4 against Wright State where Collin Chandler will be joined by a bunch of new faces at Rupp Arena.
