Cowboys vs. Steelers Sunday Night Football live updates, score: Two of the NFL’s showcase franchises clash in prime time

Date:

A familiar refrain surrounding the Dallas Cowboys over the past few seasons is that Dak Prescott is a stat monster that can’t get the job done in the win column in Dallas. Prescott is third in the league in passing yards for the 2-2 Cowboys and while the offense has been moving the ball through the air, its the defense that has gotten the bulk of the negative headlines in this early part of the year. While Dallas only allowed 26 rushing yards to the Giants, the team still ranks near the bottom of the NFL in rush defense and will be without interior lineman Demarcus Lawrence for at least a month due to a foot injury.

That could be a good combination for the 3-1 Steelers, who boast an offense thats in the top-10 in the league in rushing and is committed to the ground game with quarterback Justin Fields still finding his footing. Russell Wilson is nearing a return from a calf injury, but with a dominant defense — second in points allowed, fourth in yards allowed — Mike Tomlin may just need a game manager on offense to jump out to 4-1 and an early lead in the AFC North over the surging Baltimore Ravens.
