Lisa Pagett will be leaving Somerset Cricket Club at the end of October, and the club thanked her for her contributions and wished her all the best for the future.

A spokesman for the club said Lisa played an ‘important role’ in cricket, particularly in the development of women’s cricket in the southwest of England.

Since her appointment as general manager of Western Storm in 2016 and more latterly Regional Director of Women’s Cricket, Lisa has been a key figure from the program’s inception, overseeing four finals appearances between 2016 and 2019, which included two Kia Super League wins in 2017 and 2019.

Jamie Cox, Western Storm chair and CEO of Somerset County Cricket Club, said: “Lisa has worked tirelessly for the development of women’s cricket and has every reason to be proud of what she has built over the past nine years.

“While we’re disappointed that she cannot continue this journey with us, we hope to see her involved in the game and at Somerset again in the future.”

Reflecting on her time with the team, Lisa said: “Building Western Storm has been a deeply rewarding experience, and I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved. From our early success in the Kia Super League to the development of young players from all across the region, it has been a fantastic journey.

“Hundreds of women and girls have been inspired by Western Storm, which is a wonderful legacy to leave. While it’s difficult to step away, I do so with pride in what we’ve accomplished, and I wish the players and staff continued success in their futures with Somerset.”
