Dorman girls golf wins third straight title; Byrnes, Boiling Springs, Spartanburg in top 10

Dorman won the Class AAAAA D1 high school girls golf state championship for the third straight year Wednesday at the Columbia Country Club.

The Cavaliers won with a low of 647 strokes. River Bluff was the runner-up, with 659 strokes, and Lexington was third, with 660.

The Cavaliers had complete control from start to finish, holding an 11-stroke lead after day one of the championship.

Senior Londyn Rath led the Cavaliers with an individual score of 153, which was third overall behind Carolina Hawkins of Blythewood (139) and Grace Lindsey of Wando (146). Junior Ava Romansky and Freshman AC Peake of Dorman tied for sixth overall with 157.

Other top-10 team finishers in the Upstate include Byrnes (736), which finished seventh overall, Boiling Springs (773), which came in eighth, and Spartanburg (775), which just cracked the top 10, coming in ninth.
