Dublin Cricket League’s under-15 boys’ team earned the victory by two wickets in the finale against Southern California Youth Cricket Academy at the National PSD Youth Cricket Tournament held in the Tri-Valley over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Some 20 teams from top youth cricket programs across the West Coast competed in the five-day tournament that concluded Dec. 1, with the California Cricket Academy Stars winning the U13 final and Fremont’s VK Cricket Academy Vulcans taking home the U11 trophy.

“This tournament is more than just cricket; it’s a platform to inspire our youth to dream big and develop life skills like resilience, teamwork and leadership,” Ramesh Immadi, founder and convener of the tournament, said in a press release afterward. “Seeing the dedication and passion of these players reminds us why youth sports are so important for building a bright future, not just for cricket but for our communities.”

In all, 40 matches across the age groups were played in Pleasanton, Dublin and the San Ramon Valley during the tournament, which in addition to Bay Area representation saw teams come in from Seattle, San Diego and Orange County, according to organizers.

The U11 final was a victory by five wickets for the VKCA Vulcans over the CCA Tornadoes. The CCA Stars defeated the San Ramon Cricket Association by four wickets in the U13 final. Local elected officials and other dignitaries, including USA Cricket board member Srini Salvar, attended the closing ceremonies.

“This year’s tournament was marked by fierce competition and camaraderie, reflecting the remarkable talent and hard work of the young cricketers. Parents, coaches, and fans turned out in full force to support the athletes, creating an electrifying atmosphere at all venues,” organizers said, also extending thanks to local sponsors, volunteers and officials who contributed. “The tournament continues to inspire young athletes and strengthen cricket’s roots in the United States.”
