Emmanuel Petit Tells Arsenal to Beat PSG for AC Milan, Napoli Standouts

Paris Saint-Germain have been linked to various attacking players heading into the January transfer window. Moreover, Arsenal are being urged to pursue two players connected to the French side to bolster their attack.

In October, Fichajes reported that Rafael Leão is on the radar of three European giants: Arsenal, Manchester United, and PSG. Despite being under contract with AC Milan until 2028 and having a €175 million buyout clause, the Italian club could reportedly be willing to negotiate his transfer for approximately €120 million.

Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga last summer saw Chelsea and PSG showing strong interest in the Nigerian striker. After his move from Napoli fell through, the 25-year-old joined Galatasaray on loan, where he has been in outstanding form.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that his release clause is around €80 million for January, with the possibility of it dropping to €70 million next summer. Meanwhile, Daniel Riolo of After Foot RMC suggests that PSG could renew their pursuit of the forward.

Former Arsenal player and French pundit Emmanuel Petit recently spoke about the two players he wants the Gunners to pursue: Leão and Osimhen.

“I think Arsenal needs one or two more players, especially in attack and maybe on the left flank, to rotate and bring more qualities as well,” Petit said (h/t Diario AS). “They need a really good striker who can score goals because I really like Kai Havertz, and sometimes [Gabriel] Jesus can do the job.

“I really like Osimhen. I think he’s also on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar. I like Leão from AC Milan. They’re different players, but they’re performing well for their clubs. It’s quite difficult to sign big names during the transfer windows, especially in January. But with the new Champions League format, who knows? Maybe something could be possible.”
