Lazio remain top of the Europa League table thanks to a superior goal difference from Tottenham and Anderlecht, while Roma clamber above Manchester United.
There have now been three of the eight rounds played in the Europa League under this new format, where all the results go into a single table.
Lazio were already the leaders going into this evening, but the 2-0 win away to FC Twente now puts them on top with only two other teams who still have a perfect record.
They are Tottenham Hotspur and RSC Anderlecht, though the Aquile benefit from a superior goal difference of nine goals scored and only one conceded.
Olympique Lyonnais and FCSB both lost today and therefore slipped down the standings.
Roma finally got their first victory by beating Dynamo Kyiv 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico and therefore climb to 19th place on four points.
Remarkably, this puts them ahead of Manchester United, who were held 1-1 by Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in Turkey and have played three draws in the competition this season.
As with the Champions League, the top eight go directly into the Round of 16, teams from 9-24 enter play-offs and those from 25-36 are eliminated from Europe.
