Ex-Roma executive Italo Zanzi expected to join Hellas Verona

Former Roma executive Italo Zanzi is reportedly nearing a return to Serie A—almost a decade after his departure from the Italian capital.

According to Calcio e Finanza, the 50 year-old is expected to become the CEO of Hellas Verona once the club’s sale to American fund Presidio Investors is completed.

The Texas-based fund, which operates in the finance, real estate, technology, and entertainment sectors, is expected to finalise the acquisition of the Veneto-side prior to the weekend.

After serving as CEO of the Giallorossi from 2012 to 2016, Zanzi is expected to lead the club alongside current sporting director Sean Sogliano, who will remain in-place despite the ownership switch.
