Fabrizio Romano Provides Key Contract Update on Arsenal Defender’s Future as PSG Show Interest

Date:

Arsenal’s central defensive pairing, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, are reportedly on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has the latest on the Brazilian defender, who has experience in Ligue 1.

TBR Football recently revealed that PSG had a representative scouting Gabriel and Saliba. CaughtOffside also reported, citing sources, that Saliba is on the radar of Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich.

Although it seems unlikely that Arsenal would let Saliba go, given that his contract runs until 2027, the report states that they would only consider offers starting at around €120 million or more.

Fabrizio Romano: ‘Nothing imminent’ on Arsenal’s Gabriel

Regarding Gabriel, the defender’s contract doesn’t expire until 2027, so there’s no rush to extend his contract even though the player is drawing interest. Romano shared his information on this rumor in his latest Daily Debriefing column for CaughtOffside.

“Gabriel Magalhaes was the hero for Arsenal against Tottenham at the weekend, and my fellow columnist Charles Watts discussed his performance and his future in his latest column here.

“I can confirm more or less the same – it’s something at an early stage, with nothing particularly concrete so far. For sure Arsenal want to keep all their stars and Gabriel is one of them. It will be a topic in the next months, but nothing imminent.”

Since joining Arsenal in 2020, the 26-year-old has made 172 appearances for the Gunners while scoring 16 goals and recording one assist.
