Fast-growing burger chain will open its first Kansas City area restaurant next year

Date:

The Atlanta-based burger chain Smalls Sliders will soon open its first Kansas City area location.

On Friday at 9 a.m., the company will drop one of its signature orange shipping containers onto a lot in Blue Springs at 704 NW Mock Ave. It’s expected to begin serving burgers there in early 2025.

“Our attention-grabbing Smorange Can is not only going to stand out visually as a pillar of our community but become part of our daily routines — from celebrating our local friends and neighbors to sponsoring local events and more,” said Mark Parretta, the local Smalls Sliders franchisee.

The chain’s locations are all built from shipping containers.

The chain was founded in 2020 by Brandon Landry, who also is the founder of Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux. Former NFL quarterback Drew Brees is one of Smalls Sliders’ primary investors.

Smalls Sliders specializes in cheeseburger sliders, waffle fries and shakes served out of a modular shipping container buildout that includes a drive-thru and walk-up window. It has previously said it plans to open nine restaurants in the Kansas City area.
