Former Devils’ Kevin Rooney Left Game After Massive J.T. Miller Hit

Date:

Former New Jersey Devils forward Kevin Rooney left last night’s game after taking a huge hit from Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller.

Early in the game between the Calgary Flames and Canucks, Miller delivered a very hard, but clean, hit on Rooney that sent him into the boards.

Rooney remained on the ice for some time as a full-line scrum broke out. Eventually, he was able to get off the ice on his own.

The Flames took exception to the hit and spent a portion of the first period going after Miller until it all came to a head when Anthony Mantha and Miller dropped the gloves near the end of the first period to settle the score.

Rooney left the game and didn’t return. We all hope that he is okay and will have a speedy recovery!
