The Carolina Hurricanes have placed former Philadelphia Flyers forward Brendan Lemieux on waivers.

The Flyers acquired Lemieux and a 2024 fifth-round pick from the Los Angeles Kings for Zack MacEwen during the 2022-23 season. Following the trade, Lemieux had two goals, six points, 21 penalty minutes, 52 hits, and a plus-3 rating in 18 games with Philly.
Lemieux’s time with the Flyers ended when he signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Hurricanes during the 2023 NHL off-season. In 32 games with the Hurricanes last season, he had three goals, two assists, and 64 penalty minutes. He also signed a one-year, $775,000 extension with the club this past March to remain with the club for this campaign.
In 307 career NHL games split between the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Flyers, and Hurricanes, Lemieux has 36 goals, 74 points, 548 penalty minutes, and 738 hits.
