Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp to return to football as Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull

Sky Germany reports that former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp is to return to football, but not in the dugout with a role with Red Bull.

Klopp has already signed the contract with Red Bull and will begin on January 1st. The role will include advising all Red Bull clubs: Leipzig, Salzburg, New York and Bragatino on coaching matters, philosophy, player development as well as transfers surrounding players and coaches.

Red Bull CEO of Projects and Investments and former RB Leipzig director, Oliver Mizlintat was determined to bring Klopp to the organisation. The role is similar to that of Ralf Rangnick at the organisation before he left in 2020.

However, Klopp has secured a release clause in the deal. The clause means that if the DFB want Klopp to replace Julian Nagelsmann after the 2026 World Cup, then the route to Bundestrainer will be easier than ever. Klopp is currently on a coaching break after spending eight and a half years at Liverpool and is said to have turned down interest from the USSF for the vacant USA Job before Mauricio Pochettino was hired.
