Former Real Madrid midfielder Nacho Fernandez recently discussed his summer exit, highlighting that such decisions are part of the player’s journey. Fernandez stated that he and Toni Kroos, who also chose to retire from football, do not regret their choices.

It must be noted that Nacho has transitioned to playing for Al Qadsiah in the Saudi Arabian league after a remarkable 23-year tenure at the Spanish club.

Having been with Real Madrid’s first team since 2011, the 34-year-old Spanish defender accumulated an impressive 26 official titles during his time with the team.

In a recent interview on ‘La Casa del Futbol’ on Movistar Plus+, Nacho discussed his departure from Real Madrid, stating that “these are decisions that we players make.”

He highlighted that such decisions are part of the player’s journey. He stated that he and Toni Kroos, who also chose to retire from football, do not regret their choices.

“I think that neither Toni Kroos (who decided to retire from football) nor I regret the decision we made… at least in my case,” he noted.

Reflecting on Real Madrid’s current status, Nacho acknowledged the club’s ability to adapt to various situations. He praised the team’s squad, noting their readiness to compete for every title.

“Real Madrid is a very big club and knows how to adapt to any situation. Once again, they have a spectacular squad, ready to fight for everything.”

Although Real Madrid had a shaky start to the season, Nacho pointed out that it’s common for the club to hit its stride later on.

“It is true that they have not started in the best way, but we all know Madrid. Here the grades have to be given at the end of the season.

“The important thing is that they have beaten Stuttgart and that little by little they will find their moment,” he said.

Nacho also addressed concerns about Vinicius Jr.’s performance. He reassured fans, expressing confidence in the Brazilian despite a less-than-ideal start to the season.

Nacho, who knows Vinicius well, assured that he remains confident in the young player’s abilities and is certain that Vinicius will soon find his form.

“We have to be calm with Vinicius. We know Vini perfectly. There is a lot of confidence in him. It may not have been his best start to the season but I know him very well and I would put my hand in the fire for him,” he concluded.
