Fort Walton Beach woman wins $1 million from Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket

A Fort Walton Beach woman won $1 million in the $20 Gold Rush Limited Florida Lottery scratch-off game. She chose the lump-sum payout of $795,000.

FORT WALTON BEACH — A Fort Walton Beach woman is nearly a million dollars richer.

On Thursday, The Florida Lottery announced that Katrena Ford won the $1 million prize from the $20 Gold Rush Limited Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee and chose to receive her winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $795,000.

Ford purchased the winning ticket from the Murphy USA convenience store at 193 Mary Esther Blvd. in Mary Esther. The retailer received a $2,000 commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

Launched in September 2021, the $20 Gold Rush Limited scratch-off game features 32 top prizes of $5 million and 100 prizes of $1 million. Furthermore, the ticket contains more than 33,000 prizes of $1,000 to $100,000.

The game has an odds of winning set at 1-in-2.65.
